I am having an intermittent halting problem while watching HDhomerun streaming video and have been trying to isolate what it is. So I’m curious if there is anyone else running a similar setup and perhaps having similar issues.

But if a shutdown the computer running the Plex server the HDHomerun app works flawlessly on all Roku devices. If I shutdown the Plex server software on the computer the problem remains the same. A workaround is of course to use the LiveTV option in Plex. On a rare occasion if I continuously repeat (many times) the launching of the app it will launch. Clicking ok on the software message takes me to the HDHomerun main screen for a brief moment and then crashes, returning to the Roku home page.

I have confirmed that both the HDHomerun and Roku software are up to date. But with Roku, when launching the HDHomerun app, a message appears saying that the HDHomerun software is not up to date.

Everything performs flawlessly on IOS and FireTV devices. Thanks in advance for reading and any constructive input. All of them have the same exact issue I’m about to explain. I am already able to play the IPTV channels that I added to PVR Simple Client on the OSMC media browser.I have multiple Roku devices and Roku TV’s. I assume OSMC came up as an option because its media center feature allows it to broadcast media files to any computer connected to the same network. So this all lies around whether it is truly possible to broadcast IPTV channels that are added to KODI’s PVR Simple Client add-on on OSMC, so that it appears like a HDHomeRun tuner to any Plex server. There was no discussion of TVHeadend being necessary in this process. This possibility came up in a Plex thread where it seems a lot of users were using a proxy tuner called “Telly” to emulate a HDHomeRun TV tuner to connect to Plex DVR.Īt any rate, the rabbit hole leads to some Reddit chats that bring up OSMC was being capable of broadcasting tv channels loaded on KODI’s PVR Simple Client directly to Plex DVR via port 3000.
